• Islip Town Offers Summer High School Lacrosse League
New for 2010, the Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs will be offering a 7 on 7 summer lacrosse league for grades 9 to 12. League play is set to begin June 29. Games will be played at the East Islip Marina and teams will play double-headers each night. League fees are $900, which includes Section XI officials. Interested teams should contact Ray Mills, League Director, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 224-5404, or at recsports@townofislip-ny.gov.
• Sports & Aquatics Seeking Kayak and Sailor Instructors
The Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs is seeking kayak and sailing instructors for the 2010 summer season. Interested candidates should contact the Sports & Aquatics Office, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 224-5404, or at recsports@townofislip-ny.gov.
• Islip Town Accepting Summer Pool Members
The Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs is currently accepting applications for summer pool passes for the 2010 summer season. Pools open June 26. The early bird discount expires May 31. New for 2010, swim lessons will be offered at a discounted fee for pool members. Residents who would like to take swim lessons without a pool membership should contact the Sports & Aquatics Office, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 224-5404, or at recsports@townofislip-ny.gov.
