West Islip Hoops Recognized For Promoting High School Basketball

By WestIslipTribune.com

The Islip Town Board recently honored West Islip resident Chris Hillier and the West Islip Hoops Club for their dedication and commitment to the West Islip basketball program.

West Islip School District Athletic Director Tim Horan, who attended the ceremony at town hall along with Board of Education Vice President Annmarie LaRosa, said, “Chris is an individual who goes above and beyond for the children and community of West Islip. Under his leadership, the West Islip Hoops Club has made great strides in a very short amount of time. Everyone who helped the Hoops Club should be proud of this recognition.”

With regard to West Islip being known for its outstanding athletic programs, and in particular, lacrosse, Hiller says he’s working on getting the word out to more people about basketball.
